Finished garage exterior with a modern installed garage door.

Garage door springs do most of the lifting every time the door opens. When they start to wear, the door usually gives you a few warnings first.

What to watch for

  • The door feels heavy or slams shut
  • The opener strains or stops partway
  • You see a gap in a torsion spring above the door
  • The door sits crooked when it opens

Why it needs a technician

Springs hold a lot of tension. Adjusting or replacing them without the right tools can cause injury. If you notice any of these signs, stop using the door and call for a repair.

What to expect

We check both springs, the cables and the rollers, explain what has worn and quote the fix before we start.
